Focus and Scope
The Naval War College Journal is a quarterly publication affiliated with the Postgraduation Program in Maritime Studies (PPGEM) of the Brazilian Naval War College. The journal is a non-profit, peer-reviewed publication specialized in scholarly articles and book reviews in the field of Defense.
The editorial line focuses on works that contribute to the development of a national strategic thinking in the field of Defense, particularly regarding the Maritime Authority.
All articles summited are peer-reviewed and subjected to the approval of the members of the Editorial Board or the Advisory Board. Any suggestions for content changes will be agreed with the author prior to publication.
After the article goes through the peer review stage, it will be submitted to the "Prioritization for publication" stage, due to the maximum number of articles possible to be published (eight), in which the Editorial Board will prioritize, based mainly on the criteria for adherence to the editorial line that consists of Defense themes, in particular Maritime Power and author's titles, when the Selection Process of Articles for Publication will be closed.
All manuscripts must be original and must not have been submitted for publication elsewhere while they under evaluation by the Naval War College Journal.
The journal allows the submission of articles, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, on a continuous basis, except for thematic issues. Submission is exclusively through this site.
